We are excited to announce a special Family Referral and Enrollment Incentive available across all Southwest Public Schools campuses!
Our families are some of our greatest ambassadors, and we want to thank you for helping other students discover the opportunities available at Southwest Public Schools.
Refer a Student and Earn Up to $500!
Any current Southwest Public Schools family that refers a new student who enrolls at a Southwest Public Schools campus by October 30, 2026, will be eligible to receive:
$250 Gift Card – December 15, 2026
The referring family will be eligible for a $250 gift card after the referred student successfully enrolls at Southwest Public Schools by October 30, 2026.
PLUS an Additional $250 Gift Card – After May 28, 2027
The referring family will be eligible for an additional $250 gift card if the referred student remains enrolled at Southwest Public Schools through the last day of school, May 28, 2027.
That means families can earn a total of $500 for EACH student referred and enrolled!
For example, if you refer two students who meet all eligibility requirements, you could earn a total of $1,000.
This incentive applies to referrals and enrollment at all Southwest Public Schools campuses.
If you know a family looking for a school community committed to helping every student grow, achieve, and prepare for a successful future, we encourage you to invite them to join Southwest Public Schools.
When enrolling, families should be sure to identify the current Southwest Public Schools family who referred them so that the referral can be properly documented.
Thank you for helping us grow our Southwest Public Schools family and for continuing to share the great things happening across our schools.
Eligibility Requirement: To receive the second $250 gift card, both the referred student and the referring family’s student(s) must remain continuously enrolled at Southwest Public Schools through the last day of school, May 28, 2027. All referral incentives are subject to verification of enrollment and eligibility requirements.

Let's honor the rich cultures, traditions, achievements, and contributions of our students, families, staff, and community.

Texas law now requires school districts to distribute information to parents and guardians about the safe storage of firearms. This information will help you learn about options for, as well as how to talk to your child and others about, the safe storage of firearms.
In 2021, 4,613 Texans experienced gun-related deaths. The Texas Department of State Health Services (SHS) reports that 55% of Texas firearms deaths in 2020 were suicides and that 59% of all suicides in Texas were by firearms. Suicide attempts involving firearms have a 90% fatality rate. Restricting access to guns is critical in reducing acts of violence, whether as self-harm or towards others. Acts of mass violence and interpersonal violence often end in suicide.

Due to the severe winter weather forecast for the Houston area, Southwest Public Schools will be closed on Monday, January 26, 2026. This decision was made to prioritize the safety of our students, staff, and families.
The City of Houston has opened warming centers and shared winter weather safety resources for families who may need assistance during the cold weather event.

We will continue to closely monitor weather conditions and will communicate any updates regarding return-to-school information through texts/notifications, district social media, and our website. Stay safe!
