Southwest Public Schools Partners with The CJ Stroud Foundation, Lowe’s, Full Court Peace, and Lily’s Toy Box to Bring New Playgrounds to International Leadership Academy
Southwest Public Schools is proud to announce a transformational partnership with The CJ Stroud Foundation, Lowe’s, Full Court Peace, and Lily’s Toy Box to provide new, safe, and engaging playground spaces for students at International Leadership Academy.
During a recent visit to the campus, representatives from the CJ Stroud Foundation and Lowe’s met with school leaders to discuss the playground replacement project, which will revitalize outdoor spaces for pre-kindergarten and elementary students. The effort will replace both the play areas for three- and four-year-olds and older students, ensuring all children have access to environments that promote play, learning, and community connection.
“We are truly honored to collaborate with Lowe’s and Full Court Peace on this meaningful project,” said Kimberly Stroud, President of the CJ Stroud Foundation. “This community holds a very special place in CJ’s heart. Every initiative we take is rooted in his desire to give back to the people who inspire him, families who work hard, children who dream big, and neighborhoods that deserve hope and opportunity. Our goal is not just to build a playground, but to create a space where children feel seen, supported, and free to imagine all that’s possible for their future.”
“At Lowe’s, we know strong communities begin with safe and inspiring places for children to learn, grow, and play,” said Roy McBride, Lowe’s Regional Pro Services Director. “That’s why we’re proud to partner with the CJ Stroud Foundation on this transformational project at International Leadership Academy.” This project reflects Lowe’s national 10 Million Square Feet of Impact commitment, which is their pledge to strengthen communities by improving and rebuilding spaces that bring people together.
Mike Evans, Founder and Executive Director of Full Court Peace, echoed that sentiment. “Expanding our reach to Houston, our third city in Texas, is an incredible honor,” said Evans. “Serving the children of this school and giving them greater access to basketball means the world to us. We’re proud to partner with organizations that share our commitment to creating positive, lasting change in the community.”
Dr. Felicia Adams, Superintendent of Schools for Southwest Public Schools, expressed her gratitude for the shared commitment to students and families. “We are incredibly grateful for this partnership and the dedication shown by CJ Stroud, his foundation, Lowe’s, Full Court Peace, and Lily’s Toy Box,” said Adams. “Playgrounds are more than just equipment; they are spaces where children learn teamwork, imagination, and confidence. This investment will have a lasting impact on our school community.”
This collaboration reflects a shared dedication to building stronger communities and creating spaces where children can thrive both inside and outside the classroom.
